Frequently Asked Questions - FAQ
A: No. If you properly maintain your investment by resealing every 2 years you’ll extend the life of the gravel considerably and not lose more than random pebbles. This resealing can be done by you or us and is inexpensive.
A: It is non -slip and non -skied application, pebble paving is uniquely a porous application.
A: Not under normal circumstances. If you leave iron or rusting steel flower pots, chairs, nails, etc. it will stain. Rust is one of the few ‘stains that’s hard to remove. Cement or paint will also stain the pebble paving. Years of constant watering or fertilizing will leave hard water minerals behind. This can be removed with other chemicals or call us to reseal the stones.
A: Most people do virtually nothing as pabble paving requires very little maintenance. We suggest rinsing with water if it’s particularly dusty or near a garden run-off. You can use a domestic pressure washer that can remove gum, paint, sand etc.
A: Pebble paving can develop a crack – that’s about it. IF it is properly maintained it doesn’t dissolve, blow up, gum up, break up or blow away. Ground movement and tree roots underneath the pebble paving can heave the concrete we adhered to and cause the pebble paving to crack or break off. It is no big deal, we can easily repair it.
A: Yes, it really is easy.
- Chip out the crack with the right tool
- Mix some epoxy and pebbles together and trowel them into the chipped-out crack. Voila!
Yes, the color might be lighter than that existing pebble, that’s because the existing pebbles have been outdoors for years and may even have a reseal coat or two on them.
When we leave your home we’ll leave you a 50 lb. bag of gravel. Put it away. If you get a crack, we’ll have the exact same stone grade to patch.
A: Concrete is the best surface to install over. Brick, tile, pavers, etc. are all good too. Wood and asphalt are weak and continue to deteriorate under the pebble paving. therefore it is not recommended to lay over wood or asphalt. Aside from blowing off leaves, twigs, and debris, there is no other prior preparation needed for pebble paving. We can also apply over painted surfaces without issues.
